Wedding Cake Trivia and Finding That Special Cake

July 8th, 2011 Raymond No comments

I discovered this article in the Web. I liked it. Have a gander.

Okay, by now, you know, I do research on little known traditions, so let me tell you why, supposedly we are to keep the top of the cake for a year and then eat it with your spouse on your one year anniversary. You know I had to know. During the 19th century, it was usual and expected that the bride and groom would invariably have a child 9 months or so after their marriage, so the top layer of the cake was saved to have at the Christening.

I’ll keep searching for good stories. See the article for all the details.

The Rise of the Wedding Tiara

November 22nd, 2010 Raymond No comments

Just found this on the Web. I spend too much time surfing. Have a gander.

The tradition of wearing a tiara started to signify political power and status in ancient times and into the 19th century. Today, the regal look made possible with these headpieces is available to a wider population, as tiaras are often used in weddings and other special events.

I hope it’s enlightening. I’ve discovered a bunch of articles about this. Check the source for details.
