One of the things that helps everyone involved in making your wedding day as problem free as possible is a timeline for the day. The timeline is something that everyone (Maid of Honor, Best Man, Photographer, DJ and Venue Coordinator) can use to know the What, When and Where for your day.

The food and the entertainment are the two most memorable parts of your party according to your guests. Make sure the DJ knows how to keep a crowd happy all night. This is key! Call around, get referrals. A good DJ will know how and when to play what. They will also be able to handle guest’s requests, run your party’s flow as the M.C., dress and present nicely, act professionally, understand how diverse your crowd is, pay attention to volume and profanity for the young and old ears, and so on.

Hopefully this top ten list will help in planning for your Wedding or Party. This is one area I would not suggest to go with the least expensive DJ that you find.

A wedding string quartet will not produce loud music, and it is ideal for wedding receptions, wedding ceremonies and champagne receptions, in addition to other non-wedding related events such as small private parties, ceremonies for university graduations, small outdoor events, cocktail parties, soirees, art gallery events, dinner parties and evenings for corporate entertainment. You should know that you have several options for choosing music for your wedding, including an organist, a choir, and a band, a DJ, recorded music and more. If you are going for a more elegant themed wedding, then it would be ideal to…

Choosing the entertainment for your wedding is a consideration which cannot be taken lightly. Should you hire a DJ or one of the many wedding bands for hire? Hiring a DJ has the advantage that you can choose exactly what they can and can't play.

Everyone has had the misfortune to go to a wedding reception where you just want to leave within the first half hour. Typically there is nothing going on at these events – people are sitting around with bored expressions on their face half listening to the DJ playing boring music in the background. In other words, there’s a complete lack of activity and it’s just really boring to sit there doing nothing – you don’t want to bore your guests.

Why not make the Grand Entrance into the Reception a bit of a show! Plan with the DJ/MC (me!) to play individual snippets of songs for each couple being announced in at the start of the reception – make the songs funny, or have them suggest a funny thing about the couple (for example – the Sopranos theme or Godfather for a Really Italian father!). All the guests will get the joke and understand that this will be a fun wedding.

It is your special day and it is important to find a DJ who is professional and experienced, giving your wedding the attention it deserves. The music played during the ceremony tends to be subtler and more romantic than that of the reception, though this does not need to be, if a different style is preferred. It is important to have music before the ceremony, to create the atmosphere and to entertain your guests as they arrive. Popular tunes include Handel’s ‘Hornpiper’, Mendelssohn’s ‘Wedding March’ and Wagner’s ‘Bridal Chorus’. The music may be delivered by a DJ, musicians (such as harpists, a string quartet, or even bagpipes), a friend using an MP3 player, piped or using the church’s piano. Be careful to be aware of church rules or restrictions though, on the type and volume of the music chosen.
I hope it’s enlightening. I found a bunch of articles about this. Click the ‘Go to Source’ link for more.

You will need to choose the perfect baker to make your wedding cake, the perfect photographer to capture your day, the perfect DJ to play tunes that will make your guests dance all night, and the list goes on.
